Codae: learn to code by writing code.

Codae is a programming school that runs in your browser. Instead of hour-long videos, every lesson is a short loop you finish yourself: read a little, write the code, run it and check the result, until the idea sits.

A miniature of the Codae editor: the “Hello World” lesson on the left, Program.cs, the quick keys and Run & check on the right, and the program’s output below.

Who it is for

Beginners and up: students, people changing careers and anyone who wants to understand how software is made. The interface is available in English and German, and there is nothing to install.

What you can do today

  • Choose from 8 courses with 652 lessons in total, from C# and Python to HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
  • Type real code in an editor right in the browser and see what your program does straight away.
  • Get instant feedback: Check tells you whether the task is solved, and what is missing if it is not.
  • Keep track of completed lessons, XP and a daily streak.
  • Start without signing up. As a guest, your progress stays on this device.

With your Ostrae Account

Signing in unlocks MICA, the coach built into Codae. It gives hints instead of answers for your current task and code, and it can draft a personal course with chapters and exercises from a goal you describe. Your task, code and question are only shared when you ask. Signed in, your progress and settings also sync across devices.

Four moves, every lesson

  1. ReadA short explanation and one clear task.
  2. WriteYou type the code yourself, in a real editor.
  3. RunSee what your program actually does.
  4. CheckFind out if the task is solved, and what is missing.

Ostrae.email logo02 Write · ostrae.email

Ostrae.email: an address of your own.

Ostrae.email is the webmail for your own @ostrae.email address, opened with your Ostrae Account. Its idea is in its tagline: mail, with room to focus. Folders on the left, messages in the middle, the open message on the right, and no advertising inside your inbox.

The three-pane inbox layout. Placeholder lines stand in for mail; no real or sample messages are shown.

Who it is for

Anyone who wants a personal address that is separate from school, work or an old provider, and a quiet place to read and write. It is free during early access; to send and receive, you need an activated mailbox.

Get started in three steps

  1. Create an Ostrae Account. One Account for Ostrae.email and the other Ostrae products.
  2. Choose your address. Pick your @ostrae.email address in the Account and verify your recovery email. Activation usually takes 1–5 minutes.
  3. Open your inbox. Sign in with Ostrae to read, write and organise your mail.

Reserving an address and activating a mailbox are separate steps, so you can choose your name first.

With your Ostrae Account

Your address is chosen in the Account, and the Account signs you in to the inbox. Sign-in tokens are stored encrypted, and the mail server runs on AWS in Frankfurt.

Layrae logo03 Make · layrae.ostrae.tech

Layrae: design and animate websites in your browser.

Layrae is a visual website designer. Describe the site you have in mind or start from a template, shape it on a canvas, add motion, and export the result as plain HTML and CSS files.

A simplified Layrae canvas with breakpoints, an animation, the AI prompt and Export ZIP.

Who it is for

People who want a website without writing the code by hand, whether for a portfolio, a small business, a club or a product idea. If you do write code, it is a quick way to sketch layouts and animations.

What you can do today

  • Start by describing a site or app, or from a template: Blank site, SaaS landing, Portfolio or Restaurant.
  • Edit pages, layout, styles, fonts and responsive breakpoints visually.
  • Add entrance and scroll animations built on GSAP, plus optional libraries such as Lenis, Swiper, Anime.js, Motion, Alpine.js and Lottie.
  • Let the AI assistant build and edit the design from your instructions.
  • Export a ZIP with one HTML file per page, a shared stylesheet and your images.

With your Ostrae Account

Projects are saved in your browser, on your device. If you sign in with an Ostrae Account that includes Layrae, your sites and AI chats stay in sync across devices; the hosted AI also requires that access.

MICA logo, a small purple ghost

The assistant

MICA helps when you ask, and only then.

MICA is the assistant you meet in Codae and Ostrae.email. It follows one principle: you decide what it sees and what happens with its suggestions. Using MICA requires an Ostrae Account.

In Codae

Hints, not answers. Ask about your current task and code, and MICA explains the next step. Describe a goal, and it drafts a personal course with chapters and exercises.

In Ostrae.email

Summaries of the selected message, reply suggestions you can edit and rewrites of your draft, within a daily limit. Only the selected message or draft is shared with Google Vertex AI for that request. MICA Desktop on Windows can connect to your inbox if you enable it.

  1. It helps only when you ask.

MICA does nothing on its own. You open it, you ask, it answers.

  2. It sees only what you select.

Your current task and code in Codae, or the one message or draft you chose in Ostrae.email. Nothing else.

  3. Nothing happens without your action.

Suggestions wait for you. Nothing is inserted into a draft and nothing is sent until you click.

  4. It can be wrong.

AI suggestions can contain mistakes. Read them like advice from a helpful friend, and keep the final word.
